'Journey' 2007
This is one of the Way markers that are sited around the Ouseburn
Valley. The two 4m high curved cast concrete sections echo the
urban detail found in the valley. The surface of the concrete has
been polished to reveal the aggregate, giving it the appearance of
Terrazzo.
The centre section comprises a Stainless Steel 'ribbon', the shape
is based on a section of the Ouseburn River. The kerb that
surrounds the structure has the names of the places that the
Ouseburn River passes through both over & under ground .
The structure is lit at night with green lights inside the
curves of the concrete, & blue lights at the base of the centre.
4m tall, 3.8wide, 2.15m deep
