Flower Spirit Pasque Flower
Flower seeds are tiny miracles of nature, so unassuming they create the most beautiful flowers, which provide such joy. Their lifecycle produces a second miracle that is their seed heads, again beautiful but completely different. I have attempted to capture part of that life cycle in this artwork.
I started growing Pasque flowers mainly for the seed heads, which are really beautiful & so delicate, almost like they are made from feathers. I created a silhouette from a photograph & set it against a stunning panel of imitation Gold Leaf, thus depicting just how precious the seeds are. The very complex & intriguing background was created with multiple layers of colour & texture to represent the journey from seed to flower.
Applying the Imitation Gold leaf by hand makes every print unique. The process takes several days & involves multiple stages. This is a Limited Edition of 200
